Helping you to find positive solutions
and to move forward, fast

What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy?

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a positive therapy which focuses on solutions going forward rather than exploring the problems of the past. You do not need to dig up or go over past issues or struggles that may have caused you suffering or distress.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a fast acting therapy, it is a forward looking therapy and recognises that you, the client, have all the inner resources and knowledge in the field of your own life and by focusing on your solution we don't dwell on your problems.

I will work alongside you to help you recognise where you are now, visualise where you’d like to be, and help you to develop your own strengths to make that solution a reality.

These ideas and strategies are then bedded down in trance (hypnosis): an enjoyable, natural and powerful way to allow your conscious and subconscious mind to come together in focus to help you to make the changes you’d like.

Traditional hypnotherapy may deal directly with a problem, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy also addresses underlying issues, therefore leading to a more complete and holistic solution for you.

In working towards increased general wellbeing and self-esteem, you will make the changes you need to get back on track. So, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can help not only with your presenting problem, but can also help you feel more in control of your life overall.

About

Jo Ray

As a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist, I am passionate about empowering my clients to unlock their potential and create positive, lasting changes in their lives. I am a registered member of the National Council of Hypnotherapy,  the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy & the Complimentary & Natural Healthcare Council and I adhere to their high professional standards and ethics.

I experienced Solution Focused Hypnotherapy first hand when going through a period of severe anxiety due to a long term situation that was beyond my control.  I was amazed how the sessions gave me back control of my life and removed the state of extreme anxiety that I had been living with constantly and this all happened within the space of a very short time.  I was bowled over by the enduring positive changes in my life and found myself telling others about this wonderful therapy and devouring information about it online, it was therefore a natural progression for me to make the decision to train to be a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist and I have never looked back.

It's a great privilege to be able to make such positive changes to my client's lives and to be on their journeys with them, watching them lighten and brighten as we work together to enable their freedom from past issues and to remove anxieties about the future, allowing my clients to live in the present, in control and living their best lives.

Have a look below at some of the many conditions that I can help you with.

Why not contact me for an informal chat and to book your initial consultation where we can discuss where you are, where you would like to be and I will help you to understand why you feel the way you do and how I can help you get back to being you again.

Depression is a very common mental disorder and affects millions of people worldwide. Depression is when we feel persistent sadness and a lack of interest or pleasure in things that we had previously enjoyed.

Feeling low is a part of all of our lives at some stage. Everyone feels upset, sad or downcast at times, but for some of us it can be a real problem.

Anxiety is our mind's reaction to stressful,

unsafe or unknown situations.

It's the sense of uneasiness, distress, or dread you feel before a significant event, butterflies.

A certain level of anxiety helps us to stay alert and aware, but sometimes our feelings of anxiety can be relentless, all consuming and overwhelming and this can affect your daily life.

Sleeping (2)_edited.jpg

We all have evenings when we find it hard to fall asleep or find ourselves waking up in the night. How we sleep and how much sleep we need is different for all of us and changes as we get older.

If you regularly have problems sleeping, you may be experiencing insomnia and this can affect your daily life in a way that makes it hard to cope

Sports Performance.jpeg

Success in sport is dependent on mental preparation, execution, and toughness:

It has been said that sport is 90% mental / 10% physical, although no-one knows the exact percentage and it is probably different for each individual, we do know that there is a direct relationship between success in sport and  the sports person's mental strength.

Phobia.jpg

A phobia is a type of anxiety disorder and is an overwhelming and crippling fear of an object, place, situation, feeling or animal.

Phobias can be created by a distressing event or maybe a learned response from a parent or other close relative

If a phobia becomes very severe, a person may organise their life around avoiding the thing that's causing them anxiety. As well as restricting their day-to-day life, it can also cause a lot of distress.

weight management.jpg

Losing weight has many health benefits and can also help with our confidence and self esteem.

Losing weight when overweight can be challenging but is achievable when we have the right mindset to enable us to make small changes like wise food choices and break bad food habits that have developed, often due to anxiety or depression.

Smoking.jpg

It’s no wonder why so many people want to quit smoking.  A 2019 research showed that it’s the top cause of preventable illness and death in the world.

Vaping has been shown to be an effective way to quit smoking, however studies are now showing that there are many adverse effects to vaping,  harmful emissions in the vapour, including possible carcinogens and irritants, serious long-term side effects of vaping include an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, lung damage, lung disease, seizures, and nicotine addiction & poisoning.

Anger, is a powerful emotional state involving an intense response to a sensed provocation or danger.

A person experiencing anger will often feel physical effects, increased heart rate / elevated blood pressure.

For many, this natural reaction passes quickly but for some the feeling of anger can develop into a more persistent feature in their lives and can become more difficult to control.
